Family-owned retailer to begin final liquidation April 9

LIVONIA, Mich. (April 6, 2026) — Furniture Factory Liquidators will close permanently after serving Livonia and surrounding communities for 19 years. Owner Dena Berman has announced she will retire following the final sale which opens to the public April 9.

Dena’s husband, Bob Berman, opened Furniture Factory Liquidators in 2008, continuing a family legacy in furniture retail that dates back to 1911. The Berman family operated several well-known stores over the years, including Lasky’s, owned by Bob’s father, John, and Furniture Express, which Bob led from 1994 to 2007 before launching Furniture Factory Liquidators.

Under the Bermans’ leadership, the store became known for its attentive customer service, earning the platinum honor of best furniture retailer in “Community Votes Livonia” each year since 2022. Following Bob’s passing in 2021, Dena continued to operate the business.
“I’m deeply thankful for the support of our customers, our dedicated team and the community that has supported our family business for so many years,” she said.

Furniture Factory Liquidators begins its final sale on April 9 at 15700 Middlebelt Road. The 18,000-square-foot store offers a wide variety of indoor furniture, outdoor furniture, mattresses and heirloom rugs from around the world, all priced to move quickly. Home accessories will be discounted up to 50%. Famous name brands include Hughes, Jackson Catnapper, Jofran, Lifestyle, Peak Living, Serta, and Southern Motion. Management encourages early shopping for the best selection.
